Why did I build SO?
Well, simple answer, I love programming. I love tv shows. There you go!
Started watching Tv shows on the computer a long time ago. The facility to follow episodes at the time I wanted, without tv adds was spectacular and so my tv show list grew and grew.
I started using a notepad to track my season/episode, you could say my Tvshows.txt was the 1st Series Organizer.
At the time, there wasn't any app (there wasn't smartphones), or any computer software that would list my tv shows, and could track my episodes.
I thought, what the heck, what if I used my tvshows.txt database kinda file, write a app that would increment my seasons and episodes when I clicked a button, or something like that.
And SO v0.1/1 was born, it was never released as it was freaking ugly (hey at the time almost all apps had that look, bravo win 98)
I know you won't understand most of it, everything is in Portuguese, but all of the SO current ideas are there!
- Add/Remove Serie, Inc Ep, Arquived Series, TV external calendar, editable links
But the looks were terrible, so I perfected it a bit. Still no big database, still no airdate for the next episodes, it didn't connect to any API, so it only knew whatever you input on it.

It was basically the same as SO 1, but the notion of themes was introduced, a nice welcome together with Windows XP looks.
Then I craved for more. I wanted SO to tell me when the next episode was. I wanted it to tell me if an episode was airing today. I wanted to know more about my series, wanted to see images, everything that would be available.
I searched, and searched, and found. Found the amazing Thetvdb.com and their amazing API. It would give me everything that I would need. I just had to learn. And learn a lot I did.
SO 3 was created, all series and episodes could be added from an external source, with all the information I needed.
Same ideas of themes are there as well as editable links, added languages and subtitles search to SO. It was the 1st one available around the www.
Added Extras with extra banners and fanart, as well as the Special episodes (Season 0's)
And it passed a while...
The idea of refreshing the SO Gui started to appear. I also wanted something that could track some sites to know when some series were available.
SO 4 was born. It wasn't shared with anyone. It sit with me for over a year and a half until I had to move on.

The idea of dynamically creating the series list and the episodes list appeared, I scratched the listview (i hated it tbh), and made the above. The looks improved, and I introduced RSS feeds to the program. I was happy.
Until...
Started getting errors on some Series Updates, wasn't being able to add new series. Freaking thetvdb.com API changed from XML to Json. And so the will to want to to a final SO refreshed, with all that I had learned along the SO's came.
SO 2017, v4 was developed, and is here. It has gone through a few interactions already, and more are to come.
I'm a tv show fanatic, a developer enthusiast, and joining the two is a perfect good hobby.
Below you can find the latest SO 4 images as they're released.
